I don’t know about you guys…but my eyes were glued to the tv screen for Meghan and Harry’s Wedding! Everyone looked amazing, and I had to share my favorites with you all.
So without further ado, here are my favorite outfits spotted at the Royal Wedding!
Amal and George Clooney
Amal always looks stunning in anything she wears, and today’s outfit was no exception. She sported a mustard yellow(hot color this summer) Stella McCartney dress. George sported a crisp grey suit, a classic nonetheless, but these lovebirds looked amazing together as always
Priyanka Chopra and Abigail Spencer
These trailblazers looked absolutely fabulous in their gowns. Priyanka, a fan favorite on Quantico wore a gorgeous pale lavendar 2 piece set by Vivienne Westwood. Abigail Spencer, a fellow co-star on Suits, sported a youthful polka dotted frock by Alessandra Rich. I love the choice of color in both dresses…pastels are very in now and each outfit screams springtime.
Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford
Does Daisy, I mean Carey Mulligan, ever not look fabulous?! The Great Gatsby star sported a beautiful, ankle length gown by Erdem. Her Husband Marcus Mumford joined her in a classic black suit, appropriate for the occassion.
Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian
Serena always exudes confidence whenever she enters a room, and her outfit for the royal wedding was no exception. The sports phenemenon wore an amazing blush Versace gown, and was accompanied by her equally classy husband Alexis Ohanian wearing yet another dapper black suit. What’s perhaps the most iconic of her outfit, has to be her amazing headpiece. Hats, and headpieces are one of the most important parts of british fashion, and Serena’s matched her outfit exquisitely.
The Bride Herself, Meghan Markle
Last, but certainly not least, we have to talk about Meghan Markle’s wedding dress! Meghan opted for a simple white gown that, listen to this, was designed by Givenchy’s first female designer…talk about girl power!! I absolutely adored Meghan’s classic approached, and how she opted for longer sleeves opposed to the traditional capped ones. Her Tiara, was also a gift from the Queen herself
(I’m not crying you’re crying)
but like he’s definitely crying:
Ok guys, that’s it for my favorites! I hope you enjoyed today’s post, and if anybody needs me, I’ll be sobbing and watching princess movie re-runs on my couch.
After finishing 3 in the past week, I think I have gathered some advice for anyone feeling nervous about interviewing! Two of my interviews were group interviews, and the last one was a one on one. I personally prefer one on one interviews, but a lot of interviews these days tend to be group because of the number of applicants who apply.
Here are my best tips for sounding confident and professional for your next interview:
Tackling the Group Interview
Most companies will let you know if you will be interviewing with other applicants, but sometimes you might just get there and find out on the spot(like me). In this case, you have to engage and ask questions just as much as the other applicants! This means asking thought-provoking questions, making your voice heard amongst the sea of fresh faces.
Pro tip #1: Sit up straight
This might sound obvious, but make sure your posture is professional and open to your interviewer! Make eye contact, and keep your expressions neutral. Also, make sure to look and interact with the other applicants…no one likes an applicant that spends time talking about herself/himself and doesn’t care about what other people are saying!
Pay Attention to What You’re Wearing
Depending on what job you are applying for, your outfit can make or break your first impression with your potential employer. For example, I interviewed for clothing stores, so I made sure my outfits were brand free and professional. Each job has its different requirements!
Pro tip #2: Cater to your brand
If you are applying for a job who’s brand screams the 70’s…try to incorporate some bell sleeves or paisley prints in your outfit. If they are obviously 90’s baby’s at heart- this is your chance to break out the platforms and metallics! Whatever you decide make sure you still look professional for your employer.
Get There Early(or at least 15 minutes early)
No one likes awaiting a late candidate… so make sure you are in the general vicinity at least 15 minutes before your interview starts! Sometimes your potential employer may even take you in early- it all depends on the situation!
Eat Before You Go
I don’t know about you guys, but I really can’t focus if I haven’t eaten anything. No matter what time your interview is…make sure you have a complete meal before you leave! Make sure to avoid breath killers like garlic, and teeth stainers like wine before you start snacking.
Pro Tip #3: Keep Snacks in your bag
Speaking of snacks…I like to keep 1-2 in my bag at all times. This way if you don’t have time to eat before you leave, you can munch on a granola bar or dried fruit while you wait for your turn!
Ok, guys, those are my best tips to get you through your next interview! I hope you guys found the tips helpful and make sure to tune in tonight for the next episode of my podcast! I will be talking about my interview experience and may just have some special guests as well.
My roommates are some of the most adventurous people I know, which inspired me to write my post today. My Junior year of college really taught me how to take more risks, and to stop living my life in the shadows. So here are some tips to get out of your comfort zone and live a life you’ve always wanted to!
The only thing holding you back is you;)
Explore New Places
I love visiting new places whether it is a coffee shop, or restaurant. If you feel like you always go to the same places and feel stuck in a rut, try getting food in a different location, or go downtown to listen to some music.
Change up your playlist
Something that inspires me to be more adventurous is to make new playlists on my Spotify. Uplifting music can really boost your mood and pump you up to get stuff done!
Here are some of my favorite songs atm:
Broken Glass by Rachel Platten
Brooklyn in the Summer by Aloe Blacc
Eye of the Storm Ryan Stevenson and Gabe Real
Never Fall in Love by Jack Antonoff, MO
Spend Time With Friends
I love spending time with my best friends, and they happen to also be my roommates which is a win-win. They inspire me to try new things, and we always have the best time during road trips, or even getting takeout at midnight(S.O for all those late night Cookout runs)
I think that’s all the tips I have for you guys! I hope you all enjoyed today’s post and make sure to text your besties and tell them you love them:)
I hope you all are having a productive Monday! I finished my junior year last Thursday, so I am officially done for the summer! Since I have some more time on my hands…I wanted to share my morning routine with you and give tips to create a routine that will have you smiling at the sun rather than pulling the covers over your head. I don’t consider myself to be a “morning person” per say, but since I have worked at 9 am every day during my spring semester, I’ve learned to start appreciating waking up earlier in the morning.
Here’s what my Morning looks like(on a good day):
Drink that H20 Girl
As soon as I wake up in the morning, I try to drink some water. It’s so important to stay hydrated during the day, and drinking a big glass of water as soon as you wake up is a great way to do this! Since I have to refill my Brita before going to bed, I tend to pour a big glass at night and end up finishing the rest in the morning.
I try to make my breakfasts healthy, although who doesn’t love a stack of pancakes??? My favorite combo is a fruit smoothie, some type of fruit, and plain cheerios with almond milk!
Here’s a recipe for my Green Smoothie:
1 cup of Spinach
I cup of frozen berries
I cup of almond milk(or any type of milk)
1 teaspoon of honey to taste
Work that Body
Ok, we all can’t be like Richard Simmons… but I try to do at least 15 minutes of some type of workout if I can fit it in before work! Here are some of my favorite workouts, and YouTubers I like to follow:
Tara Stiles(Strala Yoga)
Yoga with Adrienne
Tone it Up
Quiet time doesn’t have to mean meditating. It can mean journaling, reading, or anything that relaxes you! For me this means sitting down with my bible, studying scripture and then doing a 10-minute meditation. I love the app Headspace for this…they have quick meditations that you can do really quickly before work or class!
Well, this pretty much sums up my morning! I hope you guys enjoyed these tips and make sure to keep an eye on my twitter for updates on episode 3 of my podcast(that’s right we’re already on episode 3!)
Love you guys to the moon and back,
